Subject: “When it rains … it pours !”
I
am frantically fighting against stormy seas just to stay afloat as far as the genealogy
website is concerned, not only are we losing our Discussion List and
Newsletter, as it has been in the past, we are also losing the website location
as the current server has shut down without notifying it’s clients. You may have noticed the “Marquart”
Genealogy website at http://noble.cioe.com/~kaneka/Mqt-web1.htm
has not been accessible.
Until
August 20th you may access the Discussion List via the new site only
to read and/or print previous postings, they are not allowing any further
posting. For those of you needing
information from previous postings no longer available online, I have
maintained a copy and will gladly share them with you. A few exceptions do exist, somehow I have failed
to maintain copies of postings 10 – 14, 16, 17, 29, and 31, if you wrote those
postings to our Discussion List or have copies of any of these postings I would
greatly appreciate a copy. At least
temporally we will need to improvise the sharing of information, you may send
any information you wish to share to me at kaneka@bigfoot.com
and I will post it in the online newsletter as well as send it out to our
previous Discussion List/Newsletter members via email. PLEASE place “Newsletter” in the subject line
of your email when sending information to share.
The
online “Marquart” Newsletter will be accessed using the same procedure as on
the old site, either by clicking “Newsletter Updated” in the upper right of the
main page or clicking the “Marquart Newsletter” button at the bottom of the
page. Only 2001 entries will be
available online but I do have a few copies of previous newsletters I would be
willing to share if desired.
I was not notified of an approaching shut down or given
time to relocate our “Marquart” Genealogy site, I apologize for this
inconvenience and will have another website up and running as soon as
possible. Due to the previous server’s
usage of fully specified URL’s I must manually reset all file names
and links, which I am currently working to complete. In the meantime you may view the newly formatted “Marquart”
Genealogy (with added names and information) in our new (permanent/temporary?)
location <http://marquart.50megs.com/Mqt-web1.htm>. Although editing and verification of
information of this new material is ‘a work in progress’, PLEASE be reminded
corrections and editing changes may occur (I will try to send notifications of
corrections). Concurrently, I will also
be redoing the file names and links of previous web pages and add them to the
site as completed. At the time of this
writing there are 4 known dead links on the main page, these include “Marquart”
Index, Spousal List, Hessen, Germany, and Genealogy Benelux Web button links at
the bottom of the page. The “Marquart”
Index and Spousal List have been put on hold for restoring links as all this
information is in the “Marquart” lineage button link in a new format, Hessen Germany
and Genealogy Benelux Web links have been lost due to a relocation or deletion
of the two web sites (if anyone finds the current URL for either of this sites
please send them to me via email.
Please
be patient and don’t give up on me,
… like the
Phoenix, our “Marquart” Genealogy website will rise
again ! J

Subject: "IMPORTANT INFORMATION"
I am sending this via the Marquart
Newsletter as there have been several emails returned and for the information
of those not on either the Discussion List or Newsletter email list.
I feel this is important to all
those seeking information on the "Marquart" Genealogy website. If any email addresses have changed since
the time you became a member, and you still wish to receive information, please
send me your updated email address if you did not receive the email with the
Subject: "Marquart" Discussion List and Newsletter dated June 29,
2001.
I am writing to inform you of the changes soon to come in the Marquart Website. Due to circumstances beyond my control we will be losing our Discussion List and Newsletter on August 20th, see notice (in red) sent to me from ListBot. I cannot afford the $149 for the subscription.
"Important notice: ListBot will be discontinued on August 20th. We invite you to upgrade your announcement lists to bCentral List Builder. Your first month is free - then pay only $149 for your first year subscription."
I would suggest anyone/everyone
wishing a one last chance to display your genealogy information to do so
quickly, we still have a little time to utilize this list. Refresh our minds as to your genealogy and
who you are looking for ... any questions and data, which would help us help
you. Be sure to include YOUR EMAIL
address so you can be contacted. I
would also suggest you copy/print off any of the Discussion List and/or Newsletter
entries, which are of interest to you or those you think you may be able to
assist.
If anyone knows of a 'free'
discussion list/newsletter link we may incorporate into our website please let
me know as soon as possible, hopefully we could get a new one set up before
this one is discontinued.
I will be sending out direct email
letters, which would include any/all information, which might otherwise have
been on the Discussion List and/or Newsletter till we find another way to
handle the situation. So, if you have
anything after the August 20th deadline please send it to me and I will then
forward it out to all the others connected to our lists ... I'm hoping we will
come up with another Discussion List before the dead line.
I also have another genealogy
listing with more information, and I believe easier to navigate, online ... but
it is currently not listed for public view as I am still making corrections to
this site. If you would wish to view this new information please contact me.
You must check all information for accuracy till the editing
verification is complete ... any
notification of errors would be gratefully received.
If you have received this notice by
mistake, do not wish to receive future notices, or have received multiple
copies of this email please let me know ... if multiple copies then tell me
which email address(s) to delete and which email address you wish me to
continue using.
